The University will make refund or disbursement, e.g. scholarship, refund of hostel caution money and other fees, by bank autopay to student’s bank account in Hong Kong. Starting from 1 February 2023, electronic payment (mainly bank autopay) will be the only payment method for making paperless payments to students. Students are required to provide their bank account information in the BUniPort. The University will issue an e-Notification with payment details and pay date to students’ email account whenever a payment is arranged.

Please input/update your Hong Kong bank account details through “Profile > My Profile > Study Record & Personal Particulars” under the BUniPort. Students must carefully input/update and check the bank account information to avoid financial losses due to erroneous bank-in to other people’s bank account. Only HKD savings or HKD current account with authorised bank institutions in Hong Kong are acceptable for payment to students. Credit card accounts are not acceptable.

Please send your request with payment evidence to FO-Student Team (fostudent@hkbu.edu.hk). Only after the over-payment is verified, the Finance Office will arrange a refund of overpayment to students by bank autopay.

No. The bank account provided by students in BUniPort will only be used for receiving monies (including overpayment refund, bursary, scholarship, etc.) from the University. The University is not authorized to deduct any money from your bank account.
